Overview

The International English Language Testing System (IELTS), co-owned by the British Council,IDP: IELTS Australia, and theUniversity of Cambridge ESOL Examinations (Cambridge ESOL) measures the English language proficiency for non-native communicators who aim to study or work in countries where English is predominantly used.

IELTS tests four language skills: Listening, Reading, Writing & Speaking

IELTS has two versions: Academic (For students seeking admission) & General Training (for working professionals & immigration applicants)

Administered by British Council & IDP Australia multiple times annually at centers all over India.

Why IELTS?
IELTS is a key step in your foreign admission or immigration journey. It is compulsory for admission into many universities in US, UK, Australia, New Zealand & Canada. Many organizations mandate it for their new employees and it’s also a pre-requisite for immigration application in countries like Canada.
Format

IELTS could be written on paper or on computer. It has four sections for each of the language skills, with speaking held separately. Your scores come in the form of Band Scores, ranging from 0-9.

Listening

Questions: 40

Time : 30-40 Minutes

Score: 40 Marks / 0-9 Band Scores

 

Reading

Questions: 40

Time : 60 Minutes

Score: 40 Marks / 0-9 Band Scores

 

Writing

Questions: 2 Tasks

Time : 60 Minutes

Score: 0-9 Band Scores

 

Speaking

Questions: 3 Parts with multiple questions (Oral Interview)

Time : 11-14 Minutes

Score: 0-9 Band Scores
